The Cesarine

Culture and knowledge of traditional cookery (see: The Home Food Equation) still exist in our country, passed down through generations and retained within the families particularly attentive and sensitive to the value of food as belonging and identity.

Home Food has looked for and found in Italian families the people who are repositories of the ancient knowledge of our cookery, and has convinced them to share their knowledge and experience with a larger circle of people whilst at the same time remaining within their own domestic environment.

They are Partners of the Association whom we have affectionately named "Cesarine", in praise of all the grandmothers, the carers, the aunts, that have enriched our childhoods and made them happy with tastes.

To become a Cesarina (see: ) you need to be a Partner of the Association, to have a passion for cooking, knowledge and understanding of the traditional recipes of your region or of Italy, to have the desire to share those recipes, to possess good communication skills, and the time and domestic space in which to receive Guests.

The Partner who intends to become a Cesarina should forward their application to the Association observing the precise formalities (see: ). His/her admission will be based on the decision of the Directive Commission.

Once accepted, the Cesarina will be kept in close contact with Association with regard to the arrangement and realisation of the Events.
