Who we are

The Association for the Guardianship and Exploitation of the Traditional Culinary-Gastronomic Heritage of Italy with the Home Food project sponsored by the Ministry of Agricultural Politics, by various regions of Italy and in collaboration with the University of Bologna, emphasises and spreads the culture of traditional food interwoven with the culture of the typical products and the particular area. In this spirit it is possible to become a guest of Italian families and to taste foods cooked by the lady of the house, the repository of the old culinary ways and methods.  

The Guests (see To become a User Partner) as are the ladies of the house called Cesarine (see The Cesarine) are partners of the Association.   

The ladies of the house are affectionately called Cesarine (see: The Cesarine) in praise of all the grandmothers, the carers, the aunts, that have enriched our childhoods and made them happy with tastes.

Home Food has aimed to create a virtuous circuit in which antique recipes (see: Recipes), the sense of hospitality, peculiarities of the area, emphasis on the typical product (see: The Home Food Equation) merge into a characteristic and characterising proposal non just of the Region, but of the single Province and the specific Area (see: The Italy of Home Food)

Home Food has created a network of Cesarine across the whole country (see: The Italy of Home Food) in order to offer the possibility of finding in many places throughout Italy a welcoming table of traditional foods carefully prepared and cooked only for our partners.

Among the other initiatives of the Association are Events which are organised in places of particular artistic-historical interest and the publication of books that concern the culture of food interwoven with the territory which sees traditional food as the creator of culture.
