Home Food Editions are the expression of the Association’s interest for the safeguard and the exploitation of the gastronomic and culinary wealth of Italy.
The Editions’ subject if Food with its culture strictly linked to the culture of Families and Territories. “Typical Product”, “Territory”, “Families’ Culinary Preparations” and “Traditional Food” are the key words of this initiative. The intimate synergy between the Family’s Traditional Food and the Territory is analyzed from multiple points of view, from the historical and economic one to the artistic, cultural, social and narrative ones.
The core of Home Food message is that typical good food is an instrument for the building and keeping of a culture. From this point of view, the “good to eat” produces the “good to live and think”, while simultaneously the “good to live and think” produces the “good to eat”.
The typical and traditional good food becomes symbol and metaphor of a good way of staying together, that’s exactly the reason why Home Food has born and now operates with the purpose of contributing to build a culture where “good” is declined at various sense levels.
The books’ contents ideally relate to these main aspects, which can also be combined in more than a volume.
1) Knowledge and spreading of the families’ culinary learning, entrusted both to the oral tradition and to the written receipts.
2) Role and knowledge of the typical product in the preparation of the typical traditional food.
3) Typical traditional food between perception and metaphor, a way of building a culture of Good, the Home Food philosophy.
4) The typical traditional food of the territory, an art among the arts: synergies, comparisons and guides.
5) Traditional food to treat the body’s and the soul’s diseases.
